Pioneer DVR-S706 External DVD±RW WriterStrengths: fIREWIRE CONNECTION, FAST, NO / OFF SWITCH Weakness: cAN'T SEEM TO BURN MORE THAN 2 SUCESSFUL BURN IN A ROW. mIGHT BE MY COMPUTER OR THE UNIT GETTING hot. This item is great for burning DVD movies and other media. Pioneer is a leading name and says quality. Pioneer DVR-S706 External DVD±RW Writer
Strengths: plug and play into my G3 ibook. which i Love!! i didnt need to get any 3rd party software, just drag and burn.
Weakness: it takes forever to cache, it took like 20 mins. the burn was fast - 10mins, but then i had to wait another 15mins for the disk to verify. argh!!
It was great. The body was sleek. the burn was quite and took like a total of ~30min to burn a dvd-rw. which is ok i guess. Ive also burned cd-rw which took no time at all. I really appreciated the plug and play aspect of this burner. I didnt have to download/buy any 3rd party software for my G3 ibook. Which was sooo exciting to find out, because i ususally have these kind of problems.
