Nice CPUStrengths: Price Weakness: Its a Sempron This is a very nice CPU for the average desktop. If you plan on doing task intensive work look elsewhere for a CPU with more cache memory and the newer socket 939

AMD Sempron Exceeding ExpectationsStrengths: The 64-bit CPU is rather quick. Easy install. Value priced Weakness: No SS3 Support. Not socket 939. The CPU exceeded my expectations for its price/performance. I've had a 3000+ Barton and and 3000 AMD 64. I wasn't sure how this CPU would rate compared to these, I was expecting benchmarks to be very similar to the 3000 Barton, but it blew it away in all benchmarks and held its own with the 3000 64. I'd recommend this CPU.

The Sempron 3000+ is a Good Value for Average...Strengths: Price, runs cooler than expected Weakness: Heatsink attachment was not straightforward. The average PC user is not very demanding. They need a processor that can handle "low-impact" tasks like reading e-mails, web surfing, and basic multimedia without a lot of effort. The Sempron 3000+ is one of those. I installed it in a system running Windows XP. It should be up to the tasks of running Windows Vista, but I would check the recommended hardware requirements just in case. Installing...

Good CPU for a budget buyerStrengths: Inexpensive. Manufacturer Warrenty. Comes with a heatsink. Weakness: only 128k L2 cache. 754 socket, no dual channel support. This is a very good CPU for people that just want an inexpensive machine that does everything well. If you want more performance out of it, you can overclock it easily. If you are looking for a quite PC and want to lower the power comsumption and heat generation, you can lower the CPU voltage with cool 'n quite. Nothing can beat this CPU for such a low price.

Simple, cool, and efficientStrengths: Runs Very cool! May be a decent OC ability (did not attempt). Weakness: The l2 Cache at 128KB kills it, speedwise. This is a great entry-level CPU. It runs at really cool temps, so no worries about anything overheating. Its not super-fast, but works great for internet browsing and doing word processing, spreadsheets, etc... Great value!

Good value CPUStrengths: Cheap, Fast Weakness: None so far I was trying to build a desktop computer just for fun without spending lot of money. Then I found this AMD Sempron processor for really cheap around $30. I thought of giving a try and for my surprise it was very easy install and ready to go in a short while. The performance is decent and very good value for home computing purposes like browsing, office work and watching videos. I would definitely...

fantastic on this priceStrengths: 64 bit, runs cool, fast enough, easily oc, cheap Weakness: small L2 cache (128k) I bought this CPU in retail package at a dirty cheap price ($31) and I would say it's a steal deal on this price. It runs very cool and sufficient for the ordinary web surfing and minor games. I also use this CPU for HDTV playback, 1080i and 720p is very smooth. Highly recommend!

AMD rocksStrengths: Easy to install, quite fan, CPU works great! Weakness: None The CPU works flawlessly with my ECS motherboard. Installation was easy. The CPU runs cool and is still powerful. Just can not beat the performance for the price! AMD rocks!

Excellent Performing CPU
Strengths: Easy to install. Inexpensive.
Weakness: Not as fast as newer cpu's from AMD.
Although not as fast as some newer AMD offerings, fast enough for everything I do. Very little difference between this chip and the Athlon XP. Save your money and buy this one. Bottom Line: For price and performance, very hard to beat!
