DO NOT BUY THIS CARD if you're looking for digital...Strengths: you can hang it around your neck like an Albatross Weakness: DOES NOT SUPPORT SURROUND SOUND FROM DIGITAL OUTS - the optical and coaxial outs on the front panel only provide 2.1 - I've also had problems with the analogue 5.1, see comments After I gave up on trying to find a way to get the digital outputs to work, I got 3 mini jack Y cables to hook it to my 6 channel input on my receiver - which worked for about an hour, then the card stopped sending a signal to the subwoofer - then it stopped sending a signal to the rear left speaker - then it started sending the subwoofer signal to the rear left speaker. Creative wanted to charge...

One of the Best I've Ever BoughtStrengths: many many features, the sound is greeeeat for everything Weakness: expensive at the moment This sound card is so great that I don't know what words to use to describe it. It comes with remote control and everything. It's just awesome! You can use it for games, movies, recording, etc. This is THE card to get. It's expensive at the moment but it's well worth the money in my opinion.

The one!Strengths: many options for connections, does exactly what it says. Entertainment, Gaming, and Audio! Weakness: The price can be out of many's budget for a sound card Need a open 5" slot for the options connector, not a good idea if you have a shuttle xpc! Great! Sound has just been fabulous when watchin a movie! Really easy to connect. Remote control is a huge bonus! I'm sure there are other options out there for this price, but overall i'm satisfied with it.

great sound cardStrengths: the sound is crystal and clear, especially with the crystalizer feature turned on Weakness: pricey This card is definitely one of the best sound cards out there in today's market. The crystalizer feature presented by the x-fi series definitely boosts the whole performance. The sound is really reaaly awesome, even when I listen to mp3 files. For gamers, it is definitely the one card you would like to have. The downside is that it is still pretty expensive, i chose this one over the x-fi elite...

Great with a few minor problems.Strengths: Great sound, great gaming, full EAX support, breakoutbox has a ton of connections, remote control is great for HTPC. Weakness: Optical does ONLY 2.1 No EAX or any gaming effects with Optical. Too much software, difficult if you have problems, could not screw in breakout box to computer case and cords hang infront of case. Great for gaming, great compared to Onboard Sound. Optical can only do 2.1 and no EAX or any other gaming effects with Optical. Must buy 3-mini to 7.1 surround sound cable from creative to use with Home Theatre. Breakout box cannot screw into my computer case. Remote control only works partially. Too much software to handle and manage. Difficult to troubleshoot. Breakout box is infront of...

Good soundcard, but usual Creative driver/software...Strengths: Good quality sound Weakness: Buggy drivers & software This is a nice sound card in itself, good sound quality even if I was not as impressed as many professional reviewers seem to be compared to my old Audigy 2 card. The problem with this card is that just like previous sound cards in the Audigy series, the X-Fi cards are plagued with Creative's infamously bad support, with buggy drivers & software which rarely get fixed, even with newer updated...

I love it!Strengths: nice sound card, wayy better than integrated, better than the xtreme music Weakness: price for some... software could be better First off, I actually got this on sale for the same price as the xtreme music at retail cost so price wasn't a big thing for me. I absolutely love the front ports, I have it hooked up on my xps 600 (replacing the xtreme music) and I do notice a difference in quality. I won't even think of going back to onboard sound. Remote was redundant for me since my tv tuner came with a remote already. Most...

Creative XFi Fatal1ty FPSStrengths: 64MB onboard X-ram. Front I/O panel. EAX 4.0. Weakness: Expensive. Bulky software. The best gaming card available. Personally, I hate creative's bulky software. To control the feature of this sound card fully, you should install very heavy program. I want a light driver.

Sounds great but support for 64 bit Vista is needed...
Strengths: Crisp sound quality, easy to install, better software package than the Audigy 2ZS, great IO box and easy to use remote, improved headphone sound, driver updates now available
Weakness: No 64 bit Vista or Linux drivers, 64 MB X-RAM is gimmicky, no PCI-express version, still using flat cable to connect IO box, too few jacks on back of soundcard itself
(Jan 6th, 2008) This review is a bit easier since I am fortunate to have one box running the older Audigy 2 ZS soundcard, my fiancee's running an Auzentech X-Meridian, my lab mid-tower running the new Auzentech X-Fi Prelude and my full tower with the X-Fi Fatal1ty version (which is identical to the newly named Platinum Fatal1ty Champion setup). So, a side by side comparison is easy. The Platinum...
