EVGA Geforce 7600 GT

Strengths: Excellent performance for price. Quieter than most high performance video cards. Does NOT require extra power. Two DVI ports.

Weakness: Quieter than most but not the quietest.

The initial reviews of this card lead me to believe that it could be the card for the rest of us. Us, being people who love high performance gaming but don't spend every dollar we make on hardware. I am not disappointed. The 7600 GT addresses almost every problem I had with most of the high performance video cards on the market. They were all too big, too noisy, too hot and too expensive. The...

Great Bang for the Buck!

Strengths: Runs the latest games great (e.g., Oblivion, Doom3, Half Life 2, Call of Duty 2, Dreamfall)! No extra power. . .confused me at first with my PSU that had extra PCIe 12v ;-)

Weakness: None that I have found

This card has been stable and I have noticed no performance issues in anything that I have thrown at it. I paid just under $200 for it, and the price has come down even more in the last couple of months. Sure, you can spend $500 on a graphics card, but to spend less than $200. I am running the card in non-SLI motherboard with 2GB OCZ RAM, and an AMD X2 3800 processor. These products play nicely...

Best Bang for the $$$

Strengths: Great performance, runs game on max settings smoothly. Fits in my Compaq SR1710NX. Does not require external power connector. Dual DVI.

Weakness: Fan is loud at computer and game startup.

I used this video card to replace the onboard video (ATI XPRESS 200) in my Compaq SRX1710. I wanted something with dual dvi and something that would allow me to play today's most recent games. I also did not want to spend a lot of money. This card met all these requirements, and I am very happy with this video card. After reading other reviews, I have to agree that it is the best bang for the...

Great for a 19

Strengths: Great FPS in CS:Source; Great graphics in NFS: Most Wanted; Great video quality; Great price; Everything is great on a 19" square monitor with all the settings on high.

Weakness: Loud during start-up of desktop; Loud during start-up of a game; Lags a lot on a 20.1" widescreen Dell 2005FPW monitor when playing CS:S, NFS:MW, and WC3:TFT or Dota all on highest settings.

Everything is great about the card if used on monitors that are 19" or smaller... from MY personal experience. Graphics are really good... surprisingly from this "budget" gamer card. However, the fan on the card is extremely loud during start up and during gaming. It gets loud out of nowhere sometimes too. I compared with an ATi X800XL which I had since last year. It is not a worthwhile upgrade...

At the moment, best under-$200 bang-for-the-buck...

Strengths: Great performaance for the money. Cooling fan not so oversized as to present obstruction issues in most systems.

Weakness: None that I can see

Got this for around $170 after a mail-in rebate. At the moment I found few other PCI-e cards at that price point with this card's capabilities. It was a huge upgrade over the onboard video (duh) on the cheap Compaq sr1710nx I picked up last month, and now I can actually game a little on that machine. Was worried it might tax the power supply in that system, but no glitches so far after a few days...

Loving It

Strengths: Best performance in its price class. Overclocks well. Cool and not power hungry.

Weakness: Loud at startup (but quiet during use); does not come with bundled games.

I do a lot of research on my purchases, and settled on this GPU. I am very glad I did. Coolbits overclocked it to 610/1640 (yes, that's 2x820 for the memory!), and I scored over 6300 with 3DMark05 (on a 754 Sempron 2600@250FSB (2Ghz), 2x512MB RAM, 350 watt PSU). It runs Oblivion beautifully (not at the supermax settings in the middle of lots of vegetation, of course, but at high settings most of...

THE BEST BANG FOR THE BUCK!

Strengths: Incredibly fast for under $200. The card does great in SLI. Does not need external power connector.

Weakness: Does get a bit loud at times. But strangely became much quieter when I enabled SLI.

I have has this card for a few weeks now. Already coming overclocked in the box it can't go much farther stably, but it is above the stock already. Got it to about 600Mhz Memory Clock and 1580 Memory Clock. (Same as the superclocked which costs more but is the same card underclocked.) The card can be loud at times but in a intense game it get drowned out. It even comes with a copper heatsink....

Great card for the money

Strengths: Great performance, runs cool, quieter than other cards in the same class (7600/6800GS), single slot, no extra power required.

Weakness: Not TOP of the TOP, slower core and memory clock than others.

Great card for the money. Core and Memory clocks are slightly slower than the "superclock" eVGA and XFX cards (both are 7600GT also) but only a slight difference (580Mhz as opposed to 600Mhz). But even 580 is above the reference design of 560Mhz. Maxes out all my games, especially last generation. Does a good job with the newer games also, although frame rates dip slightly when settings are on...

Best Upgrade yet

Strengths: Inexpensive, FAST, FUN!

Weakness: I only have one! I want an SLI setup!

I upgraded from my Evga 6600gt and the difference is HUGE. I get twice the frames per second at LEAST. Games like medieval II which I couldnt play on my 6600gt, I can play on at 1024 high settings at good frames per second. These cards are only around $100 depending where you shop online!. Great for overclocking, got it from coreclock of 580 to --> 630 runs very cool! 44 degrees. Plays Medieval...

EVGA 7600GT CO

Strengths: Great price for a fast card

Weakness: VERY LOUD, NOT OVERCLOCKING ABOVE STOCK SPEEDS

I had this card for over a month. Matched it with an AMD X2 3800 and worked nice ... about 6300 points in 3DMark05. Everyting stock and got better score compared with my ex 6800GT AGP card. I changed the stock cooler with a Zalman VF700 Cu and all the noise was GONE. Even if EVGA used Samsung 1.4ns memory chips on this card I couldn't OC the it above 580/1500 Mhz so I got frustrated and sold it....
