Fast CPU

Strengths: Fast, easy install, included CPU fan w/thermal grease

Weakness: Not dual core

Runs great in my GA-M59SLI-S5 motherboard. The CPU was easy to install, and the included already-applied thermal grease was a nice touch. I haven't seen any problems since installation with the CPU and it's much faster than the AMD proc it replaced. Never a problem with AMD's procs. About the only place to go from here now is replace this with a dual-core proc, which costs roughly double what...

AMD 3800+ Socket AM2

Strengths: Price/Performance Ratio and support for DDR2

Weakness: None that I have found so far

This thing screams. For the price that I paid, it was well worth it. I considered purhcasing the 3800X2, but some of the benchmarks didn't measure up. This seems like a fast, all-around CPU. It definitely does what I want it to do.

Athlon 64 - 3800+

Strengths: Fast processor, good value for the money. It may be slower than the fastest dual core, but it costs just a fraction of their costs. It is an AM2 socket so there is an upgrade path if needed.

Weakness: none so far,

I installed this in a new AM2 motherboard. It started right out of the box without any problems. It is rather speedy (I am coming from a 2.4 Gig Pentium) and all the programs I have tried work without problem.

I have not tried any games, I am not a gamer but I do work in digital photography and it seems to work well.

Nice Processor!!!

Strengths: Fast out of the box, DDR2 support, cooler core temperature.

Weakness: Original HSF may not be too silent.

Although this processor has only one core, it is still pretty fast for applications that don't need multiple cores. With the added support for DDR2, AMD has opened the window for better DDR2 process in the future. Overall, its stock speed offers a very good value for those not into overclocking.

Athlon 64 3800+ AM2

Strengths: Fast single core processor (AM2) CPU Temperature stays really cool with stock heatsink Price

Weakness: Can't beat a Dual Core.

Good CPU for the price. I went from P4 3.0 Prescott so this isn't much of an upgrade but I can say it runs faster and with alot less heat. It's 600 mhz lower than the P4 but rated faster which to me is confusing since AMD started changing all the numbers, etc. All and all, good CPU with a surprisingly a good stock heatsink but this might be because of AM2 technology on a single core processor....
