OK motherbard if you aren't using RAID

Strengths: Good layout of components, easy connection to front case-mounted usb ports, lights, and buttons

Weakness: The RAID controller DOES NOT WORK with serial ATA drives. If you try to use SATA drives, only one drive can be seen by the controller. Totally unacceptable. There is only 1 IDE connector also.

It is a bit misleading saying this board supports RAID. They could at least put the little asterisk (*) and say "Only if exactly 2 IDE connected drives are used."

Supports RAID? Baloney!

Strengths: Overclocking potential

Weakness: RAID ABILITY SUCKS

Explicitly says it "supports RAID 0, 1, and JBOD". This is true, but only if you plan to use one drive IN the case and another OUTSIDE the case connected by eSATA. WHO WANTS RAID 0 LIKE THIS?

Extremely annoyed

Strengths: er. it worked out of the box?

Weakness: RAID - I wish I had read the review above first. This RAID is retarded - only a single SATA connector internally and you have to attach a second drive to the external SATA. Beware!!

I went for this board specifically since I need a RAID setup for my internal drives. Now I have to get an add on board and take up another PCI slot. Totally bogus.

good for the price

Strengths: Great little P965 motherboard for Core2Duo, I put in the Intel E6400 and works great, great for overclocking and is reasonably priced with everything I need.

Weakness: non that I can see at the moment

Great motherboard for the price, the P5B has all the stuff I want at a great price compared to the other highend motherboards from Asus, the board is a great overclocker and make sure you have the latest bios

ASUS P5B

Strengths: Dependable

Weakness: N/A

we have been building simulation computers for 5 years now, and have been using Asus mother boards in all. In the last couple of months we have put 52 P5B computers on line with only one motherboard failure!
