I purchased this CPU when building...

Strengths: Fast, inexpensive

Weakness: no hyperthreading, presscott based CPU's can run hotter than previous P4's

I purchased this CPU when building a new computer system because it was considerably less expensive than 2.8 / 3.0 gigahertz CPU's and I thought that I could easily overclock it to around the same level. This CPU has not disappointed me so far and has acted stablily and reliably. It's also pretty simple to overclock. The included retail heat sink is heavy duty, which is good because it is widely...

Strengths: Fast processor and the price was right!

Weakness: N/A

I bought this to bulid a new system for my Mom. She's always complained that I had the faster system ( AMD 1700+). Now she is blowing me away and I'm second guessing my decision. :) Purchased at Fry's for $109 with and ECS Mobo, but I used the Soyo Dragon 2 board instead. Strengths: Good processor for the price.

Weakness: Does not have Hyperthreading.

I am updating from a Celeron. The Celeron boggs down a lot. This proscessor works well for my home and my home based bussiness venture. Runs my programs with ease.

I wanted to build a computer but i didn't want to spend that much on it. I was in between this CPU and the 2.4C GHz Northwood. The advantage of the Prescott is that it has 1MB cache compared to 512KB of the Northwood and the FSB is 533Mhz for the prescott and 800Mhz for the Northwood. This means that you can't have memory running at 400MHz (DDR3200) with the Prescott. Given that the Northwood was...

I would highly recommend this to...

Strengths: Just installed the CPU - last component. Installed Windows XP Pro and then Office 2003. Super fast!

Weakness: None that I can see.

I would highly recommend this to anyone looking to play games or home office use. For the price it was well worth it. Will be buying more of these in the next few hrs.
