This CPU has not disappointed me so far and has acted stablily and reliably. It's also pretty simple to overclock. The included retail heat sink is heavy duty, which is good because it is widely known that presccott based CPU's run hotter than previous CPU's.

I wasn't very concerned about the heat when purchasing this CPU becuase there are safeguards in the CPU that will shut the system down if the processor is in an danger of being damaged. Under a constant load, it can get up to 55 degress celcius but that is not extremely hot in my book. Intel does say that these processors do run warmer (partly due to the newer technology) but if their not concerned, I'm not concerned as it has a 3 year warranty.

This processor, clock for clock, is not as fast as an 800 FSB processor but it's definately a step up from the celerons and the price is right.

Given that the Northwood was about $25 more expensive I decided to go with the Prescott and so far I haven't regretted it.

Strengths: Just installed the CPU - last component. Installed Windows XP Pro and then Office 2003. Super fast!

Weakness: None that I can see.

I would highly recommend this to anyone looking to play games or home office use. For the price it was well worth it. Will be buying more of these in the next few hrs.
