Great Burner ........until it dies a quick deathStrengths: Will burn many formats with ease Weakness: after LAST session of burning 6 dvds in a row, it died My supplier pulled these from their shelves after MANY returns. All had a similar experience. After a while this burner just dies. The last disc it burned will be great just like all the others, then all of a sudden its dead. Great when working............... Rob

LG Electronics GSA4163B 16x Super Multi Triple...Strengths: Multi-Format solves nearly all burning challenges Weakness: Does not support RAM disks in cartridges I bought this drive for its ability to handle DVD+R and RAM disks. It does this quickly determining the disk type within 30 seconds. It also handled scratched CD's with ease, and also DVD-R. I have not tried using double layer disks since they are too expensive at this time. Setup is instantaneous in Windows XP. Strengths: Works well in SCO UNIX Environment
Weakness: 1 in 10 fail after short time
I have tried several different brands of DVD Burners in the SCO UNIX environment and this LG burner works the best. If you are using a DVD for backup purposes in a UNIX environment, this one is my recommendation.
